Welcome to MI’s website and thank you for your interest in micronutrients, global nutrition and saving and improving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable.

When you travel through our site, you will learn the story of who we are, what we do and how we do it.

Please take this opportunity to explore MI’s role in fighting undernutrition, which is a contributor to injustice and inequity in the world today. Undernutrition is preventable but continues to remain the root cause of suffering and premature death for millions of women and children every year, despite the global progress to date.

MI’s story is focused on providing micronutrients – the vitamins and minerals a body needs to live and thrive – that are missing from the diets of millions of people who suffer from undernutrition.

Micronutrient deficiencies are a hidden type of hunger: the stomach may be full but the body is hungry for more. More iron. More calcium. More vitamin A. More zinc.

Every year, MI works to help improve the lives of close to 500 million people in over 70 countries. We accomplish this through advocacy, technical and programmatic support, and in collaboration with others, including governments, donors, civil society, UN organizations and the private sector.

We are committed to increasing our impact. Part of that commitment is to provide relevant information that is easy to use and accessible for all of our visitors to our website.

Micronutrient deficiencies remain a global health problem. MI has the solutions. I hope that you join us to end hidden hunger.
