Micronutrients are vital components of good nutrition and human health, advancing physical and intellectual development in many important ways and yet vitamin and mineral deficiencies affect a full third of the global population, preventing them from fulfilling their potential.
For 20 years, the Micronutrient Initiative (MI) has focused on developing and delivering low-cost and effective solutions for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and has grown into the world´s leading organization focused exclusively on the elimination of vitamin and mineral deficiencies in the world´s most vulnerable populations.
With significant support from the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA),, we are continually expanding our reach with the solid implementation of proven interventions. Together with our partners, our team of high calibre professionals, national governments, local communities and many others, we are adding to the increasing evidence of the effectiveness of micronutrient programming.
I invite you to explore more of what MI is doing around the world. You can learn about what we do in country, how we´re helping to meet the Millennium Development Goals or how we´re targeting our efforts in supplementation and fortification. To stay up to date on our work please consider subscribing to our RSS feeds or connecting with us on Facebook and Twitter.
Join with MI as we make a lasting change for those at risk of micronutrient malnutrition.
Thank you for your support,
